Self efficacy in the iPad classroom
Limited Capacity seats available

Are you an advocate for iPad's in your school? Do you struggle to explain 'how' and 'why' these devices have the impact they do?This extended session will examine the impact of iPads and how these devices can enhance learning opportunities through a research lens. Self - efficacy is a persons belief in their own capacity to achieve or be successful in a task. As a concept it is closely linked to motivation. The role of the iPad in developing positive and robust self-efficacy will be discussed and participants will be encouraged to share their own examples. The first part if the session will review the basic principles of self - efficacy as a concept in a primary classroom. The four influences on a child's self - efficacy will be explained with examples from my own teaching. The second half will briefly explain the research that constituted a Masters thesis and explain how to use the same research tool in your own school, thus adding some quantifiable evidence to the discussion about the impact an iPad can have on the potential of the learners in our schools.
