1:1 iPads in the Elementary School utilizing Moxtra
Limited Capacity seats available

A day in the life of the 1 to 1 iPad classroom. Access to iPads at any time of the day provides a number of ideas for how technology can be used in the classroom. Managing all of this is a totally different story.
Chris Smith and Suzy Wilcox will take you into a day in the life of their 3rd Grade classrooms at Singapore American School where students and teachers use the FREE app, Moxtra, to collect, share, organize and manage information across all curricular areas of the elementary classroom. This dynamic app allows for on-the-go assessment, interactive whiteboards, live collaboration and real time feedback. In this workshop, teachers will learn about a variety of ways this app can be used from sharing information and forming collaborative groups to assessing student learning. If you have 1 to 1 iPads, we will help you get set up so you can get the school year off to the right start and save yourself time and headaches.

Coding on iPads
Limited Capacity seats available

Not long ago, coding was something left to older students, nerdy enough to put up with difficult user interfaces, arcane terms and little immediate feedback.

No more!

Thanks to the maturity of iOS devices and the app ecosystem, younger students can now learn to code in a hands on, fully interactive, entertaining and graphic-rich environment loaded with immediate feedback.

Jump on board as we explore the different options available for our younger students to learn the basics of coding.

Time will be reserved for both exploring age appropriate apps that I suggest as well as pooling your ideas to share with the entire group.

Identity: A Curated Learning Walk
Throughout the Learning Walk, eight different aspects of Identity will be explored by eight Apple Distinguished Educators. The Big Idea connects to many aspects of Citizenship and was chosen due to its significant relevance for all educators.
The Learning Walk has been designed to be a 2 hour, flexible and personalised experience. Rather than being situated in a room, the Learning Walk will run as a series of concurrent “consultancies” allowing participants to move freely around the space, visiting as many, or as few “consultancies", as they wish. Participants will engage in short activities, conversations and listen to stories of what is happening in schools/classrooms in both Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
We will also be using iBeacons to deliver content as participants move through the Learning Walk so if you are interested in joining us, please download the Locly app onto your iPad/iPhone in advance and come primed for something a little bit different!
